Autumn Leaves (abt. 1985)
The turn of the seasons has always had fond memories for me…some evoked by this simple sponge painting.  This is one of the few pieces that survived from my very earliest forays into the world of art; the other is a vegetable-stamp print that still holds a place of honor on my maternal grandmother’s bedroom wall.  Half the fun lay in making a mess with the paints, I must confess.  Viewing the fall foliage on Skyline Drive is another favorite past time.  Too bad everyone else seems to think so too, and all the hotels are booked up to a year in advance…just to watch the leaves turn colors.  Sigh… Suppose staring at the pictures will have to do for now…
