This was an interesting composition to capture…

Heading down to North Carolina for the weekend to meet with relatives, we’d figured to at least capture a passing glimpse of the smoke from the peat fires burning in the Great Dismal Swamp (as long as the wind didn’t shift, leaving us in the middle of said smoke).  We ended up with an entirely different problem however: as I was snapping away at the smoke, a thunderstorm rolled in from the other direction.  If you watch closely, you can see the two about to collide.
