if: prize

Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 

Philippians 3:14

One who runs a race must never stop short of the end, even if he believes himself to have the lead. Similarly, those who have heaven in their view must continue toward it constantly in both word and deed rather than merely being content with past labors or present grace; after all, we aren’t there yet. We run the race here below, and He rewards us with the crown above.
